the 1st bank holiday in may 2008, we stayed at wyreside farm park. in our touring caravan. from the minute we arrived on friday afternoon we were met by a lovely lady called penny who is the site owner, she made us feel very welcome, you access through an electric gate , which makes you feel that bit secure, the field was very big and there were plenty of hook ups, there was a seperate field if you have children , to play in which you could see at all times, so they are not near caravans or motorhomes or tents, there are 2 toilets and 2 showers these were very clean and always free, even though the site was nearly full, these to are accessed by a code, just up the side of pennys house there is a footpath this comes out onto the river wyre a lovely walk.and 5 minutes to the nearest pub called the grapes, does good food, if you turn right out of the site there is a shop about 5 minutes walk which sells everthing, but if you like eggs penny sells some lovely fresh free range from her own chickens, they greet you on arrival, we have put this site in our top ten as we will be back soon, and would recommend to any one,

This site is located at St Michaels next to the River Wyre. It is a basic site but nonetheless, a lovely and well mainted site. The slight problems seem to be that there is only one shower/toliet for the ladies and one for the men. This can be overlooked but we found (and so did other campers) the site owner could be very sharp when talking to you. We've just had our fourth visit because the location is convenient but have decided that not camping at all is better than putting up with petty ways! The second, third and fourth visit all bought up new rules, the last one being that to exit the site we had to go the back way through three gates and an extremely muddy path instead of using the one electrical gate as this one is reserved for the static owners. It is a lovely site and this is only my opinion - feel free to make your own mind up. -- We are a family with a small son but would not recommend it to anyone with children.
