Five Star Review

The Old Oaks Touring Park, Glastonbury, Somerset.
My wife and I have recently returned from five days here-wish it had been longer. The site is beautiful with first class facilities. The pitches are large we have a twenty foot tent and a car and there was masses of space. The shop is well stocked with all the basics. There is a lovely little pond which can be fished for around £2.50 a day. It is great walking country beng .75 mile from the tour (beware the hills are killers). If you get the chance to visit don't delay its great.

Just returned from 5 days at this fantastic site. We have been to many sites over the years and this was by far the best in terms of pitches, cleanliness and peace & quiet! The only thing that could improve this site would be a pub a short walk away. Nearest pub 40 mins walk and a bit hairy walking back in the pitch dark - don't forget your torch!! Glastonbury has some great bars and live bands every Friday & Saturday. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic site. Owners lovely and friendly. Sites facilities NEVER experienced so clean before or since. Sally and Jim are lovely people and are always there for helpful advice and a friendly face.

A gorgeous location really peaceful. Fellow campers appreciate the location and respect the facilities.

All together a great site have had our custom for the past 4 years and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Dog walk available with a shower for the dirty dogs pitches are a great size and you never encroach on other campers.

By far one of the best parks we have stayed at in 30 years caravanning. Quiet location with glorious views. Friendly staff. Great not to hear screaming kids at daybreak ! Don't change anything - leave it exactly like it is and we'll be back

This adult’s-only site is located just outside Glastonbury. Festival aside, the town is steeped in history and folklore and well worth exploring. Find peace in the grounds of the ancient Glastonbury Abbey, once the richest abbey in England and said to house the tomb of King Arthur and Guinevere. Ornate Wells Cathedral is also close enough for a day trip. At Old Oaks park you will find panoramic views and access to walks over the rolling countryside. There is also a pool,
dog walk and fishing lake. The large pitches are placed around open grassy spaces so you never feel crowded. Hardstandings and electric hook-up are available. Numerous water points are conveniently placed throughout and the site has washroom, washing-up and laundry facilities. The on site shop has a good range of groceries and offers a freezer pack hire service.

Old Oaks is one of those gems of a tourng park you find all too infrequently. It's a family-managed site exclusively for adults, run by Jim and Sally White, and is well signposted from roads leading into and out of the town of Glastonbury. The prominently signposted access drive, with passing bay, leads to a courtyard in front of the farmhouse, with a separate reception block, and well-stocked shop and off-licence. Service roads on site are hedged and fairly narrow, although adequate and well paved, so that long US RVs can be accepted.
The camping areas currently consist of 80 level pitches, of which 29 are fully serviced: of these, 17 are hardstanding and 12 are grass. Each camping area has a distinctive character, from the Walnut Paddock Circle with hardstandings for caravans and motorhomes, each with its own grassed area, to the adjacent Walnut Paddock Terrace with grassed pitches for trailer tents.
The Orchard has a mix of hardstandings with hook-ups and grass pitches for tents, around a central area of cider apple trees. Nearby, the Camping Paddock is used for tents and small motorhomes. The fully-tiled amenity block has an excellent layout and facilities and also has provision for disabled campers.
Dog behaviour on site is well monitored and controlled, and dogs must be kept on lead.
A new dog walk with a dog washing facility allows the third family member to be exercised off the lead.
A half-acre pond, less than 300 yards from most pitches, for guests' exclusive use, allows coarse fishing for carp, with some roach and tench. For this, a small permit fee is charged from April to September. A lane at the back of the site leads up to Glastonbury Tor, and bicycle hire is available.
The site is close to some of the county's main attractions, including Glastonbury Abbey, and Cheddar Gorge.
