Butlins Skegness

Excellent price. £160.00 for 4 nights during the school summer holidays and full use of all butlins facilities and entertainment. We had been quoted £550.00 for the same period with half board on site.
You can arrive any time after 11.00 am. On departure you should be off pitch by 10.00 am but you are allowed to move your caravan to the non electric area for the day. Therefore you can get almost 5 full days use of the facilities.
Warden was excellent, very helpful and polite. On arrival offered us a choice of pitches on the site if we didn't want what we had been allocated. i couldn't believe the site was only a third full and even over the bank holiday weekend i would estimate a quarter of the pitches were vacant.
The downside is the shower blocks are pretty outdated and the portacabins really should be replaced. However the impression i got was Butlins want to eventually do away with tourers and replace them with owned static caravans - more income potential from sales and ground rent. It would a shame if this happened as the site offers a wonderfully cheap way for children to spend time at Butlins.
Overall a little gem, if you ignore the showers.
