Five Star Review

What can i say about Tregarton Park. We have been visiting the site every year for about the last 9 years. Both of my children absolutely love the place, and there year isnt complete without a visit. Everything about the site exudes a friendly professionalism, and nothing is too much trouble.
The facilities are centrally located and very clean. There is now a new disabled shower and toilet as well. We regularly use the free tennis court, although each year the kids get faster (or do i get slower?) and the kids vanish in the evening for a 21 a side football match in the play area.
There is no bar on site, which we see as a bonus because the noise level is low later in the evening, and besides we like to sit out and enjoy a bottle of wine or two under the beautiful starlit Cornish sky. The pitches are huge and quite level, and we can fit a caravan, awning, Gazebo and car onto the pitch comfortably.
The site is in easy reach of Eden and Heligan, and a trip to Newquay with surf obsessed kids (and parents) takes about 40 minutes.
The way i sum up Tregarton is thus. We went to Australia on the trip of a lifetime to see Sydney, Ayers Rock, the Barrier reef and the Gold coast. When we were at Ayers rock, overlooking a gorgeous sunset, my youngest son said to me "dad, does this mean we cant go to Tregarton this year?"....

Five Star Review

We stayed at Tregarton Park at the beginning of the summer school holidays for 2 weeks. We liked this site because you could choose you own pitch when you booked online.

This was our first time camping with our 3 very young children. We found the site to be kept very clean and very well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and would always speak to you when ever they passed you.

We were shown to our pitch on our arrival.
The pitch we had was very large with loads of room for the kids to play even though we had a big tent.
The toilet and shower blocks were immaculate and cleaned at least 3 days times a day as were the washing up area and the launderette. There was a well stocked shop and reasonable priced takeaway.

We were that impressed with the site that we booked for next year before we left. We can highly recommend this site.

Three Star Review

We went to tregarton park for 1 week in august. The staff at the site are really friendly and helpfull and will site your caravan for you.
The site is about 15 minutes drive from the nearest big town(st Austell) and about 2 miles from the nearest pub. There is no entertainment on site but you make your own.
The facillities are exellent including showers, washing up room, outdoor park, swimming pool which is exellent, and a well stocked reasonably priced shop.
All in all it is a very good site with only a couple of minor problems, one is that the pitches are not very level and as we stayed in a trailer tent we spent most of the week trying to stand up straight, another is that the pool area closes at 6 o'clock for some reason and another minor problem is that there is no outside lighting at this park and so a trip to the toilet block at night can be difficult.

Many thanks for your review. May I offer the following to help explain our park.

1. All pitches have been levelled, however, to ensure they do not flood they have been constructed with a slight fall. We do offer a free siting and levelling service.

2. The swimming pool closes at 6pm for a number of reasons. Firstly it was recommended by our local Health and Safety Officer, secondly it ensure crystal clear water quality and thirdly it ensures minimal heat loss which enables us to maintain the pool at 84 degrees.

3. Lighting is situated all over the park. All water points have lights built in and the toilet block approach is flood light.

I hope this helps explain some of your points and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Professional Reviews

Tregarton Park is proud to have made "Practical Caravans Top 100 Parks 2008".

Tregarton has been voted 21st place in UK, 6th in Cornwall and 1st in the St. Austell / Mevagissey area.

Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks Award 2008

This family-friendly site is in a good location for enjoying everything Cornwall has to offer. Several beaches, and famous attraction such as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all just minutes away, and even Newquay on the north coast is within reach. On site, the outdoor pool, tennis courts and recreation field will keep the children entertained. Most of the pitches are grass, but some hardstanding pitches are available. All pitches have electric hook-up and are near the central washroom, washing-up and laundry facilities. There is also a licensed shop and a takeaway.

Practical Motorhome Independent Site Reviews.

Within easy reach of several beaches, Tregarton Park is a large, family-friendly site.
And with its grand, impressive, entrance it's easy to spot when approaching. Upon arrival there's a large area to pull into, and you're immediately greeted by a charming, antiquated reception shop.
After a friendly greeting from the owner you'll be shown to a large and well-proportioned pitch. This is even sited and levelled for you if you wish.
All pitches are easily accessed and separated by hedges or shrubs, so there's no overcrowding. Every pitch also has a 10A hook-up. Out of the 125 pitches, 15 are hardstanding, and all awnings are welcomed. If you own a US RV-type 'van (which may be over 24ft long) you will be turned away. This will be due to the vehicle's weight and the nature of the site's access paths.
For the family, there is plenty to do on site, including a large, heated, outdoor swimming pool, with wide areas of wooden decking and plenty of surrounding seating. There's also a large multi-purpose children's play facility, which is safe enough for even the youngest to play on. A beautifully maintained all-weather tennis court completes the facilities.
If you don't want to be cooking, take advantage of the take-away service.
Out and about you're close to the famous and mysterious 'Lost Gardens of Heligan' and only a short drive from Caerhays Castle, Gorran Haven and the old fishing village of Mevagissey (try a boat fishing trip and catch your own supper!). You are close, too, to Charlestown, where, if you are lucky, you will see some filming taking place. This is a peaceful site, with much to do in nearby areas.

"Together with its friendly atmosphere and continued improvements Tregarton Park must be one of the most up-and-coming parks in Cornwall"
